Minimum order
1. What is minimum order of sole distributor?
Minimum order is not the most important thing to become Lanopearl distributor but to operate to get profit you need to achieve certain amount of sale. Please check the question ?what are qualification to become Lanopearl distributor??, if you have all that 1-10 it will be easily for you to become our distributor. The minimum order will be different from each country E.g. small countries minimum $ 20000/year Large countries minimum $50000/ yr
2. We are targeting a purchase of AUD 14,000 ~ AUD 17,000 / month for initial and grow from there. Do you think it ok for the first year?
-Malaysia Your target of $17000/month is quite high unless you have a good team both marketing & sale & promotion. I think target of $10000 is reasonable for first year.

Support from Lanopearl
1. What support Lanopearl give to export distributor?
  1. New products sample, when we have new products we will send some (1-6) to you, the best timing is send together with the order.
  2. Product sample , we don't have policy to give sample ( most of Australian company don?t give sample )
  3. Sachet , we have some products that have sachet for promotion we will give some amount but if you need more we will sell at a cost price.
  4. Advertising cost, if you business plan is clear (forecast 1 years) and you have potential to achieve the target we may approve to give about 20-30% of the cost. Please note that we prefer to give you the lowest price & you have enough margins to do advertising. If we support the advertising cost there is more jobs to monitor & fund transfer involve. If we give you the best price you also pay less tax which we think it is the best solution. Anyway if you need some support in some project it is a good idea to ask for support form us (we will tell you if we can or not)
  5. Advertising material e.g. brochure, we can give some in English or Chinese but we can not make extra for your language. You can ask for some information in English or Chinese and translate in your own language.
  6. Advertising Artwork , you can request for some artwork relate to you brand , (see more detail at question no.12)
  7. Exhibition, please give us the plan & budget , we may support if we have budget
  8. Training, we will make the manual that cover all training about our products as much as possible so you can use for training. We can visit your country for training but it will cost about $2000-$5000.We prefer you to come to Australia to do training & you can give the training for your staff in your country. Most of the time if you use our products & trust the quality it will be easy for you to give the massage to others. The best thing is try every product and remember the good part to present & comment the negative part for us to improve.

2. Will there be any further assistance to us or discounts of the products?
As you know we have not enough staff to support due to high cost of operation of export. The best way is giving you the best price or lower price in order for you to compete in the market and have enough margin to do marketing to build up the brand in the long term. When the brand is established it will reward you with in 3-5 years and from that period it will easy to run the business.

You need to get at least 40-45% profit margin (GP) and about 10% for marketing; operation cost should less than 25% so you can make about 10% net profit. This figure is base on Thailand operation. We suggest our distributor do similar model. Some products may not get the same GP but average should be. Please do market research of what brand from Australia selling in Malaysia, what price, which item popular, what channel of market is good. If you like you can send the info to us to help you to comment. Please understand that we don't want to get involved if you know how to do but if you need our comment you are welcome.

We are happy to work with active distributor like your company. We only invest in Thailand & Taiwan only & not have enough time & resource already. Your case is similar to Hong Kong market last year. This year Hong Kong distributor is getting much better. They start to sell to Department store & chemist & supermarket. I spend sometimes answering the e-mail and we can improve a lot of relationship & team work.

Certificate, Trademark, Website, and E - business
  1. How to apply certificate for cream & vitamin?
    Please check with your country health department how to apply & give us the list of what you need, we can prepare document for you. Generally cream is easier to do than vitamins.
  2. What is the cost of apply certificate?
    Usually the cost is not high depending on the countries. e.g. China the cost of apply is very high. We will prepare most of document for free but some document we need to charge according the real cost e.g. embassy stamp, Australian industry stamp, and notary public stamp.
  3. How long we can prepare the document for you?
    If the document is not complicate it can be with in 30days, or up to 60days. Please plan longer in case of the problems e.g. Label have some word not allow in your countries.
  4. If health department need clinical studies, test result / data to prove Anti-wrinkle claim of rebirth products?
    We never done formal test for anti wrinkle because anti wrinkle is normal use in Australia. I think if we do a research in Sydney University it will cost about $15000- $20000. I am not sure it worth it. Please send sample of the test so we know exactly what you want.
  5. Can we get some prove towards Most Popular claim of Re-birth?
    The market for tourist in Australia is not big. We know we are no 1 selling for Placenta products. We don’t have research to proof. If you are not sure, you shouldn't use formally but verbal should be ok.
  6. Can you change in printings on bottles label, packing box. (Exp. Stimulate cell production is not allowed in Malaysia ... certain ingredients mentioned must be in details ...)?
    Please give us specific detail of what products & the area the change from what to what then we can finalise which products we can & can't . Please note that others countries have been approved so if we change it will have to re apply again which is more complicated to change. The best thing is to order specially for Malaysia eg order 5000 unit we can change the design (still not very easy for us because rebirth we usually order about 20000-30000 units per order to save cost, your order will be not easy to run but if it the only solution we will try to do that) If the order is less than 5000 units may be it is ok to put label on.
  7. Is Re-Birth trademark protected in Malaysia? If not, will we have to apply for it?
    No, it is not register yet. Trade mark is 10 years period. Usually Lanopearl will responsible for the cost of the trademark but it need to register by Lanopearl name. Please check with your accountant If possible you can find the company that can register & give the detail to us then we will register & pay for the cost.
  8. What can we do if the certificate still not approve, we can not import?
    You can not import but you can buy small amount by DHL or hand carry And try the market first. During this period (6-12months) you can give us deposit ($5000-$10000) to sign contract, the deposit will use for first order after approve & cost of registration (we will return the deposit if the application not success)
  9. Can I register web e.g. Lanopearl.com.th? ,
    Yes with our permission. Your design of the web must be final proof from us. We need to make sure color & theme is correct.
  10. Can I start to do e business selling now?
    Yes, with approval by us. The market that you can do is your country only. Please aware that price for e business in different countries is not the same.

The artwork will cover newsletter, poster, sign, advertising, shelf design, picture library, award design, testimonial, interview etc.
  3. Do I need to submit artwork for Lanopearl Australia to proof every time before printing?
    Yes, we prefer you to do even make the process slower. We can help you to check the color, design & spelling. It will help all brands in every country have similar image. Please note that when the brand well known in the region it will have good effect on you total sale. You have a right to do it differently & better but still it worth to send to us to have a look first.
  4. How do I do for the promotion?
    You need to prepare in advance what promotion eg new year ( gife basket) Chinese new year ( 5% money credit if buy more than $ ? ) Mid year sale , mother day , father day. Please order products in advance including the gift. At lease you need to plan 3 months in advance to make sure every thing ready

Branding
  1. How to make the brand I promote famous?
    You need to understand nature & character of our brand deeply. You should try to use our products yourself & listen to customers comment. All every process of sell (stock order, products quality, promotion, advertising, sale, handle customer Complain & return, brochure, shelf display, PR, exhibition) need to do professionally & must give the right massage to target customers. Please make sure you don?t only sell the products but selling more the info about our brand. Customers will take sometime to trust the brand.
  2. Can we make another product in my own brand?
    We prefer you concentrate on promoting our brand only.
  3. can I sell others brand from different company?
    Yes, if the products are not the same, but if the products are similar it can be competed each others and make both products suffer. We have enough brands for you to market.
  4. Can I use your formulation to give to my friend company?
    No, you must not do. It is our company confidential. We might take legal action if it effect to our brand.

Sale Team
  1. How can I manage sale team?
    You need to get experience sale team who know beauty business & shop owner It will progress customers faster. Target need to be reasonable & cover the cost. Please check with others company. 3 days training at the end of the month is important. First day = clear the bill & invoice, problems & solution second day = new products training third day = next promotion & research (we can ask sale person to help to do some research e.g. get sample of competitor) Commission & motivation is important especially when the confident is not high & a product is new. You may need to spend time to visit big customers so you know real story. Please make sure sale team collect shop data very well e.g. form to fill in & picture of the shop even they still not current customer but they can be our future customers ( database will use for sending quarter newsletter)

Price Policy
  1. How can I set up the right price?
    You need to finish market research to check the competitor price & set the positioning of our brand e.g. higher so the price is a bit higher. You need to check that you have enough margin (>45%) & you need to ask experience sale team or customers opinion. The important thing you need to try the market & modify regularly in the first 1 year. If your market research is clear you can set the right price & don?t need to change often ( customers don?t like price change) For the first year the focus should be the no of outlet if the outlet over 100 it will bring the cost of operation down e.g. more effective to do advertise.
  2. Can I set the price high & lower later if can not sell?
    I think it is ok to do that but the price shouldn?t be too high. Price can be lower with free gift or promotion later. Note that price lower less problems than increase price. Some items fast sell you can set the price lower to get volume. You can ask for lower price from Lanopearl if the quantity is high e.g. >1000 ? 5000 units. Products that unique & no competitor you can set price a bit higher.
  3. How many type of price setting?
    Lowest price/Mass products: you want to make more volume & sell many outlets you can set price low to extract many customers. E.g. Life spring cream Premium price: your products need to be unique & different you can set the price higher & use budget to advertise to build up brand image. E.g. Bio Peak *** Our company policy is international brand & affordable price that mean our price will not higher e.g. cheaper than Estee Lauder for Bio peak plus free gift
  4. For big customers should I reduce w/s price?
    you can give more bonus e.g. buy 10 get 1 free for big customers & try to have the same w/s price it will be easy for customers service staff to do the invoice. Anyway big customers is important please look after them like VIP.
  5. How often Lanopearl will increase price?
    We will not change price often, some item price still the same in last 10 years because we will try to lower the cost by increase volume. Please understand that sometimes price may change if it is out of our control e.g. oil price. We will inform you at least 1 month in advance.
  6. Can we get selling price of other countries to set Malaysian pricing, especially Thailand as we are neighbor?
    Yes, we can send some price in Australia, Thailand & Hong Kong as indicator.

Exhibition
  1. how often do I need to do exhibition?
    You can do 1-2 time /year in health & beauty expo to promote your brand to industry and give opportunity for shop owner to know you more. You also can go to exhibition that can sell your products so you can sell more. Please make sure you have all customers database to use in the future.

Return policy
  1. What if customers use the products and get allergy, what should I do?
    We are happy to let customer return if they have problems with quality. Most of the time if sale person be train properly it will have very low chance to get return. First, generally customers only 1-2% have sensitive skin which we don?t know what type of allergy e.g. to perfume, some chemical? So if we can identify allergy person by asking Are you allergy? If yes then you need to be careful to recommend only allergy safe products or sensitive skin products e.g. serum or derma sense or tea tree cleanser which has very low chance to get allergy. If the answer is no then they can use everything. Some product has more chance to get allergy e.g. whitening, fade out cream, sun block. Our new catalog will have allergy charge telling customers directly which one has higher chance to have allergy. We care for customers not only quality but also safety that why we have 100% returns policy.
  2. What is the process to handle customer returns?
    Do not ignore customers, take care of them & happy to give refund by asking them the question (You can help them to fill in the form) then ask the shop to fax to you office. The info will help to improve our products. Sale representative will collect sample form the shop & replace the new one for them. (Or office can send replace products with the order) It is better to make sure you explain very clear to the owner e.g. most of famous brand also make customers allergy the prevention is ask the customers first. Our products have less chance to get allergy but customers who are allergy need to be careful to choose.

    Possible but it will cost about $2000 -$2500 to send one person to Malaysia. May be you can come to train in Sydney with no cost? & can see more products.

Export by sea & air
  1. What is the lead time for orders? Normally for dispatched to Thailand, by ship or air? What is the freight cost like?
    Lead time the best is 2 months in advance. Usually we can send within one week depend on the quantity but sometime if the stock is low it can take longer to 30days. It is better to plan in advance like 60 days ( by sea should be less than 30 days but 30 days extra in case we run out of stock) Order by sea with quantity will save cost. Thailand most of the time order by sea sometime order by air (for light products or urgent need) Cost of freight about $400 ? 500 each order. It will lower the cost of you order big quantity.
  2. How to calculate the order efficiency?
    You need to use accounting program to monitor the stock, generally every 15, 30 days you can check the report. Each stock need to have monthly turn over report so you know how many units sold per months. Stock supply should not more than 60 days to same cost of stock & warehouse.
  3. Can I ask Lanopearl to do invoice cheaper to avoid tax?
    No, we can not do that because our account is 100% transparency.

Warehouse
  1. How to manage warehouse?
    1. The room should not be too hot; temperature should be lower than 30C if temperatures over 35c it can change color of the cream or make the cream evaporate. Products should not expose to sun light.
    2. Shelf lives, for cream usually 3 years, please make sure shelf life over 24 months to supply to customers. If shelf life less than 18 months it will not easy to sell you should check every month. You can plan to discount or promotion ( don?t let it expire)
    3. damage inner box (paper box) you can request some inner box form us to replace if it damage ? please help us to save cost if you can by handle with care & protect when send to your customers
    4. If products change color or quality, please report to us immediately.
    5. Every stock should have min & max , increase order if busy period
    6. Stock level should enough to supply at lease 45 days but should not over 3 months to make sure stock is fresh & save cost of investment.
  2. How to control stock, can I prevent stock missing?
    • Make sure you employ reliable staff
    • Stock take every months & random check some items sometimes
    • give budget monthly if staff can control give reward if stock short deduct from that budget
    • Use video camera to make staff aware
    • Not allow personal bag in store room, have a policy that manager can random check some days.
    • Make sure store room separate & lock safely.

Accounting
  1. What is your suggestion about accounting?
    1. Experience accountant is necessary. If accountant can help to calculate the cost effectively it will help business to grow.
    2. Monthly profit & loss should report with in 20th of next months to know company performance.
    3. Transparency account will help to monitor real figure & good for long term.
    4. GP or operation cost should monitor closely.
  2. What credit term I should give to customer?
    We always give more than customers expect e.g. we give customers at lease 40-50% gross profit of selling our products. For credit generally 30days but for good customers you can give 90 days. In some countries credit is very important for new products. We prefer giving long credit than consignment because consignment need more staff & sometimes products damage after return. Please make sure you look after customers credit well & check the credit by Ask customer to fill in credit application form before approve the credit.
  3. How can I follow up problems payment customers?
    Always check customers? credit before give them credit. If they don?t keep their credit (e.g. pay too late, bounce check) please communicate with them & warn them we may not give credit (ask them to deposit in advance & give 3-5% discount) generally bad customers should not over 1 % of total sale.

What is your suggestion for us to become Lanopearl distributor?

  • Please try every product yourself & comment frankly. We need your response & homework as much as we do to you.   • We give more margins the shop owner (40-50%) in order for them to promote our products more than others brand (low margin 15-30%)

  1. Lanopearl Touch and Young serum - what is this item? Please send more info. It is being recommended in the list. Is it same to rebirth serum?
    touch & young is a new product in Bio peak series, have 15% placenta , target younger customers age 25-35, price is cheaper than bio peak serum which have 45% placenta , we also have new product Bio peak : bio PHD = 60% placenta , target age > 45 ( P=placenta, H =herbs, D = DNA ) will be available in 2 months. Rebirth serum & Lanopearl serum is very similar but different brand.
  2. Acne cream - will this item be continue or terminate by Lanopearl?
    If continue, we would like to bring in because it is suggested to use in the list. We still have old packaging that you shouldn?t order (similar to rebirth eye gel jar) we are improving this packaging, will finish within 6 months. May be you need to wait for new packaging.
  3. Is Rebirth Eye Gel and Lanopearl eye defying eye care the same?
    We already have Rebirth eye gel in Malaysia. Please advice Rebirth eye gel is lighter & better, you don?t need to buy Lanopearl eye cream.
  4. What is Lanopearl Placentex cream? Is Rebirth EMU equivalent to it?
    Placentex is a new series of Lanopearl brand. Formulation with Placenta + herbs + vitamin A, C, E this item is very popular, coming out in the market less Than 6 months. It can be another choice for customers (who prefer herbal smell & natural products)
  5. Is Derma sense cream continuing?
    It is also being mention in the list of products to recommend to customers with sensitive skin. Dermasense is design for sensitive skin (lower price) not so popular due to less % of sensitive skin & a bit oily. May be you don?t need this item, for really sensitive skin you can Promote Mt retour organic ( next months) but price is higher about >$20 retail
  6. What is the different between Bio Peak Nurturing serum and Pentamax Gold serum? I understand Bio peak serum is the same to Rebirth Placenta serum. How about Pentamax Gold?
    Pentamax gold is good formulation & have real gold flake inside. Not oily to skin & light cream. I recommend you to promote this products (coming out for 1 Month & it is popular. This product should be good for oily skin.
  7. Do you think we need to bring in Bio Peak Day & Night creams? How about Mt Retour Face cream?
    Please advice? I think you should bring both Bio peak & Mt Retour. Bio peak turn over ($sale) is similar to rebirth & more GP & less quantity to sell because price is 3 times Higher. I have confident with Mt retour that it is the best products so far but I can not predict 100% because it is not come out in the market yet. I also know That Mt retour will be very good for sensitive skin & allergy skin.
  8. What is Bio Peak eye repair cream? Should we bring in?
    It has vitamin K to reduce dark spot around the eye, sell less than Bio peak Night & day but it is essential. It is also part of bio peak gift set (day, night, and eye) which is popular for a gift e.g. Mother Day or New Year. In Rebirth maximum you don?t have eye cream so it need for premium range. The order of eye should be only 50% compare to night cream (night cream sells 2 times more than eye cream)
  9. What is Lanopearl Bocenta Extra Lift?
    It is Palcenta cream, the packaging is very nice but the formulation is not perfect yet, so we pack together with Advance Placentex cream as A duo packs to sell. May be you don?t need to bring this one, when we have better formulation then you can import.
  10. What is Lanopearl Bio PHD Skin serum?
    PHD = 60% placenta, target age > 45 (P=placenta, H =herbs, D = DNA) will be available in 2 months. Rebirth serum & Lanopearl serum is very similar but different brand.

Question and answer Brand Positioning

We have 4 brands for skin care with 4 target groups.


  1. Mt Retour (Organic), luxury group , price $15-60 market- Spa & high end department store ( competitor brand : Jurlique)
  2. Lanopearl (highest herbal cream - focus bio peak series), premium group, price $10-$50, market - department store (competitor brand -Clinique) Lanopearl price is lower than big brand.
  3. Rebirth (placenta expert & baby),Economy group, price $3-18, market-chemist/Boots (competitor brand - L?Oreal) price a bit more expensive than Nevea or Johnson & equal to L?Oreal
  4. Life Spring Cream, Cheap and Mass group, price $2-6 market- tourist/ discount store e.g. Watson, Seven eleven.
    As you can see rebirth is not a high end brand so we can not expect high result when you compare to customers who use better brand. We agree to improve the quality of some products but we need to compare apple & apple. The problems is the products import from oversea the cost is a bit higher. How to make it work? Here is my suggestion:

Brand Positioning - we need to bring out the different of our brand from competitors such as Product import form Australia, Cream formula is safe for the skin, affordable price and Product is well known in anti wrinkle cream. I think Chinese group is most likely to buy placenta cream. For Re-birth it can not be mass but broad enough to have volume for profit.
  6. Variety of products, we have much different type of products so if you can have more choice it will be good for customers. You need to discuss with me again of which products is good or not so we can avoid the products that not popular.
  7. Support, we prefer the distributor to use Lanopearl (country name) if possible & the distributor willing to promote most of products & brands. That will be the best for us & we will be 100% support. We also can be share holder (10-30%). This model work well in Thailand, We will do Lanopearl (Taiwan) soon. Lanopearl (Indonesia) will start next year. The main reason is the momentum of the brand in Asia & we need to make the brand character similar in every country.
  8. Gross Profit (GP) you need to get GP at lease 55-60% in order to have about 10-15% for marketing. The volume need to be big enough to bring the cost down. When you order more we will further discount .I need to discuss again by phone for this topic. The style of advertising is also important. 5.Products quality, we will keep improving the packaging & quality, as you can see we Some products of re-birth will be renovate within 6-12 months e.g. Eye gel - customers ok with quality but we will change to better packaging , body lotion will improve to bottle with plug = easy to use.

Question and Answer Aromatherapy
  1. Why aromatherapy has different expiry date, some 2 years some is more?
    Essential oils is the most stable oil because it is 100% and can last very long (more than 5 years) Please note that different oil has different quality so some can last very long e.g. tea tree , eucalyptus. Some oil like rose and chamomile is only 3 % in jojoba it can not last that long.

    There is no rule to print expiry date for aromatherapy in Australia but for export we usually put the expiry date. Please confirm to us do you want us to put expiry date for essential oils.

    Essential oils blends
    When different oils mix together it has more chance to make the expiry date faster than 100% single oil (the smell might change a bit but still ok)

    Carrier oils
    Carrier oil is vegetable oil, it has highest chance to get bad smell that why it need to have expiry date. The expiry date should be about 1-2 years

    Massage oils
    Is the essential plus carrier oil so still has high change to expire in 1-2 years ? need to put expiry date

    Floral water
    Expiry date about 2 years

    Summary: We should put expiry date for every product accordingly

  2. Why aroma oil has different levels in the bottles? We will make sure new batch is all equal
  3. Packing poor in that some oils split during delivery? We will make sure the cap is really tight.
